Spring Concert on May 31
Looking to enjoy a breezy spring night of smooth tunes and jazzy vibes? VJV's got the answer! Join us on May 31 at Edwards Church, 297 Main St, Northampton, MA, for a spring concert! We will begin with a set by Valley Jazz Voices featuring familiar favorites like "Come Fly With Me" and "Breaking Up is Hard to Do," newer tunes destined to become classics like "From the Start," an original tune, "Don't Make Me Believe" written by our director, Jeff Olmsted and much more. The VJV set will be followed by a member Open Mic set where VJV singers will share their individual musical talents. It's going to be a night filled with great music and good company. Don't miss out! Tickets will be sold on a sliding scale of $10-20 at the door. Pay with cash or via Paypal. Children 12 and under are free.
Valley Jazz Voices has performed live at many jazz and community venues such as Northampton's First Night, The Blue Room @ CitySpace, Edwards Church, Hawks and Reed Performance Center, Gateway City Arts, 121 Club, Mill 180 Park, Flywheel, Easthampton Cultural Chaos, and Artwalk.
VJV opened for and sang with five-time Grammy nominee, Karrin Allyson, in May of 2018. We had the pleasure of singing with Karrin again in our May 2, 2021 virtual concert, “Some of that Sunshine.”
The group values performing for seniors and usually performs twice per season at senior residences in Western Mass. During the pandemic, VJV developed an exciting live stream/pre-recorded concert and collaboration with Northampton Open Media.
