Karrin Allyson

Karrin Allyson, jazz vocalist and pianist, is a five-time Grammy-nominated artist who has forged an extraordinary career as a singer, songwriter, pianist, composer, and bandleader. Beloved by musicians, concert-goers, and jazz connoisseurs around the world, Karrin has recorded 16 CDs. Her latest release, Shoulder to Shoulder, is a tribute to women's suffrage and her previous recording, Some of that Sunshine, is Karrin's first album of all-original songs. Her recordings showcase her astonishing breadth of repertoire, with jazz and Brazilian standards from composers including Gershwin, Porter, Monk, Jobim and more. With her strong blues foundation and her ability to deliver on the nuances of just about any tradition, Karrin Allyson is one of the most dynamic, versatile and accessible jazz vocalists on the scene.

Marty Jaffe

After completing his studies at Columbia and Juilliard where he studied with Ron Carter and other jazz greats, Marty Jaffe quickly became one of New York City’s most active bassists. He has performed with jazz icons Ingrid Jensen, Karrin Allyson, Harold Mabern, Sullivan Fortner, Sergio Mendes, and Steve Wilson. He has also performed in interdisciplinary productions directed by choreographers Bill T. Jones and Debbie Allen through the national YoungArts foundation. When not in NYC, Marty tours throughout the U.S. and the world with numerous groups, especially with renowned vocalist Karrin Allyson, and pianist Ben Rosenblum.
